Drop Your Pants
Recently the Canadian government has done something that some may think is drastic: they increased the amount of people who will able to immigrate into this country. I say do this so long as they increase funding for city infrastructures to componsate for this population as cities are already struggling. Many people have said that they are opposed to this action because it will increase education, health care, and welfare expenditures. Immigration is currently necessary. Canada's population is on the decline. If immigration does not increase, than the younger people in 50 years will be out-populated by the older. This means extremely high expenditures anyway as health care will increase dramatically, pensions will need to be paid and the working class will be strained, and will fail to sustain a healthy economy. In order to maintain populations, it is averaged that every woman must have 2.1 children (Total Fertility Rate). Canada's is currently 1.7. So it is clear, immigration is needed for the future of our country...if you want to decrease immigration, than drop your pants.
