The good old hocky game

Remeber the days when you would get a stick in the face go of too the bench bleeding from you forhead or chin. The Doc ( that doesn't have his lisense) takes you in the back puts in a couple stiches then your back in that same period. Remeber when someone would check the aposing team member so hard that they would lay on the ice not relizing that this is cuncotion number 5. Well if that was the hocky you like then those days have saild my friend.

As happy as I am about hocky being back and loving Toronto its jsut not the same with all these little rule and regulations hocky has become a hmmm whats the word a panzy sport. No hooking, checking, fighting basically it has become a non grinder sport. To me hocky will always be a grinder sport sure you have IGI, Lindros, Thorton, St. Lewi, and the list goes on these are players you are not grinders but more less play makers and thats what its all about now is making the play and appologising to the person you bump into. I say I want the old hocky back. but then again you might like it this way with no hits fighting or anything like that well if you do I sujest you try a new sport like nitting.

I agree completely. More penalties being called, the removal of the red line and the shootouts have turned the game into a game for the speedster. The game with so many penalties has no flow. The shootouts take the team aspect out of game, and they therefore limit a big part of the game to the skilled players, and decrease the need for grind players. The old hockey is gone, the new hockey is here. Will it be the death of the good old "PHYSICAL" hockey game.
